Live as though Christ died yesterday, rose from the grave today, and is coming back tomorrow.

Theodore Epp

I believe in the sun even if it isn't shining. I believe in love even when I am alone. I believe in God even when He is silent.

Author Unknown

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

C. S. Lewis

Be assured, if you walk with Him and look to Him, and expect help from Him, He will never fail you.

George Mueller

You do well to believe in God. Satan also believes...and trembles. James 2:19

Bible

Matthew 7:24

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Salvation

"For God does not want to save us by our own but by an extraneous righteousness, one that does not originate in ourselves but comes to us from beyond ourselves, which does not arise on earth but comes from heaven."

Martin Luther

Compassion

"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one."

Mother Teresa

Forgiveness

"To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you."

C.S. Lewis

The Cross

"At the heart of the story stands the cross of Christ where evil did its worst and met its match."

John Wenham

Love

"Our love to God is measured by our everyday fellowship with others and the love it displays."

Lighthouse Cafe

Every Friday evening is our Lighthouse Cafe night. We  feature live acoustic music and offer free coffee and pastries. It is a fun night of fellowship and music in an intimate cafe atmosphere. This evening caters to an older crowd than our Teen Rock night. Come and join us for this special evening...maybe make it a date night for you and your "honey"!

If you are a musician and would like to perform at the Lighthouse, please contact us. We would like to talk to you about using your musical gifts for His Glory!

Soup Kitchen

The soup kitchen is open and serving meals seven days a week. Monday through Saturday we open the doors at 6:30 a.m. for pastries and coffee, and breakfast is served at about 8:00 a.m. Lunch is served at noon until about 2:00 p.m. We remain open for a couple of more hours for coffee, bible study, and conversation.

On Sunday we open around 8:00 a.m. for coffee and pastries, and we serve brunch at 11:00 a.m. After we clean-up, we begin our church service with worship as the Holy Spirit leads us. Then one of the brethren gives us the message from the Lord. We also offer prayer and the laying on of hands for healing at the end of the service. Please come join us, our services are far from traditional and we think you will be blessed.

Bible Study

Bible study is fairly continuous all day as we share the Word together, but we have a more formal study on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Monday nights is a line-by-line study through the gospels. We have a great time with lots of lively discussion and all are welcome. On Wednesday nights are discipleship training course on topics such as healing and learning to hear the voice of God, and all are welcome. Currently we are going on "treasure hunts" using our spiritual gifts to find and minister to people all across our city!

Thursday evenings are our "Set Free" meetings which are a Christian alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous. This class is accredited for court ordered training. Come and join us if you are struggling with any substance abuse problems and be set free by our Lord Jesus Christ!

Lighthouse Needs PDF Print E-mail

Thank you for your interest in Lighthouse Christian Ministries. We are grateful for how the Lord continues to provide everything we need. He uses His people to bless this ministry. If the Lord is leading you to help this ministry, the following is a list of additional needs.

  1. Intercessory Prayer — The enemy is not happy about what the Lord is doing at the Lighthouse. Please pray that his schemes will be foiled.
  2. Volunteers — We need cooks, clean-up people, handymen, sound technicians, musicians to lead worship, bible teachers, early morning coffee makers, and help with transportation needs.

God often speaks to me in analogies. Several years ago he took me on a trip down the Oregon Coast and showed me how lighthouses paint a picture of our spiritual lives. Most lighthouses are tall, towering structures along with a smaller facility for the keeper. At the top of the tower there is a jewel which houses the light.

If you are a Christian you may think of yourself as a lighthouse. God, the Creator, is the builder of the lighthouse. James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Words of Wisdom

"Go forth today, by the help of God's Spirit, vowing and declaring that in life----come poverty, come wealth, in death---come pain or come what may, you are and ever must be the Lord's. For this is written on your heart, 'We love Him because He first loved us."

Charles Spurgeon

The Christian Life

"A man can no more take in a supply of grace for the future than he can eat enough for the next six months, or take sufficient air into his lungs at one time to sustain life for a week. We must draw upon God's boundless store of grace from day to day as we need it."

D.L. Moody

Prayer

"Our prayers lay the track down which Gods power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, his power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails."

Watchman Nee
